Schoolmeasures

Just enough to manage your project

About Schoolmeasures

SchoolMeasures (www.schoolmeasures.net) is a FREE, web-based project management application that provides just enough functionality to organize and track work to keep projects moving in the right direction.  It facilitates a simple protocol around the creation and management of lists, and drives progress and accountability for follow-through by letting everyone on the team know what is the next step and who is responsible.  It does not require project management skills, and it does not confuse inexperienced project leaders with project management language and functionality they may not understand, such as GANTT charts.

Projects usually fail not because of poor design but because of poor execution

But systemic reform is essential to improving student performance.  Better project management will deliver better results.  Schoolmeasures makes better project management easy and increases the chances that projects critical to reform will succeed.

Schoolmeasures addresses the main causes of project failure

Things won't get overlooked or fall through the cracks.  Schoolmeasures not only makes it easy for project leaders to plan and orchestrate work, but its collaborative capabilities also enables everyone on the team, including the project sponsors, to continually monitor project status in real-time, address issues as soon as they arise and add tasks that may have been missed in the initial planning.

Work gets done because transparency drives follow-through

Schoolmeasures keeps the spotlight on the individuals who have to do the work.  Every member of the project team can see the detailed status of every request until completion.  SchoolMeasures keeps a time-stamped running record of what's been requested, what's in progress, and what's been done, so misunderstandings are avoided.  It is clear who has done what.  At any time, all parties can know what is the next step, and who is responsible.  There is a clear stream of communications for each work item; requests for new information or decisions do not get buried under a mountain of emails.  Every work item is prominently displayed until the person who originated the item is satisfied and sets the status to "closed".
